A much needed rest for our group in Kasta. They relaxed, worked, and studied. To improve their mental and physical abilities. Grenwalis worked on improving his armor. Kiershoun worked on improving his physical presence and beauty. Lil bored with hanging around a city enjoyed some time in the woods that are now free of most goblins and orcs. Ralam not happy with sitting and doing nothing started listening to rumors and gossip to find something to do besides waiting. He heard a tale of a town called Masek where the entire population disappeared over night and the animals in the town were converted into undead. So the group minus Grenwalis left in the general direction and when Grenwalis was finished he joined up with them. Before Grenwalis left Kasta he had a meeting with Michael. The leader of the order they were originally against. In this meeting Michael thanked him for their work but also let the dwarf know that rooting out corruption was a difficult task and he did not wish to split apart his church. He gave information as to where someone would be two months from that date. He also gave the dwarf a powerful magic item with a cryptic message as to what it did. After it was all over Grenwalis found himself back at the bar. Strange times as the group entered the town of Masek. They found signs of a group of people surrounding the place at exact distances. They also met up with Hale Des'Mond a man of law from Paradise. He had heard about no communication from this place and worried family members asked him to stop by and look. He came here and met up with the group. He followed procedure and headed back to Paradise to get reinforcements and to notify people of what happened. The group scryed on a few of the villagers and saw a tower that was being worked on. The group headed out that night in the direction of the tower that Lil had found. During the night an eerie blue glow appeared in the direction of the tower. The next day they asked for help from their wizard friend. Knowing he still cared for the woman they are hunting and he did not trust himself so he helped in the best way he could. He used his most powerful spell several times to give them coins that glowed with a bright light from the celestial plane. That combined with a powerful flight spell and magical rod's that he carried the group lifted off to start an assault on the newly created tower. They attacked through the hole in the top and felt the energy generated from the blue light. As they fell down the blue light they felt it change from energizing them to sucking their life-force out of them. They attacked some worshipers and were attacked by a small troupe of guards. Most of the guards were quickly dispatched by Kiershoun who used to much of his advantage the invisibility granted by his cloak. Lil showed mother nature was not going to idly watch the destruction and called a flame strike on some of the guards and a wizard in the hallway. Among this troupe was a Dark elf who attacked with his hands and great fury though he was ineffective against the deadly Kiershoun. Ralam made sure those guards who fell did not get up to cause further harm. Grenwalis hearing casting by a cleric quickly teleported next to the cleric. He also brought Lil along for the ride. From there it was obvious the battle was won and the group was warmed up. After a triumphant battle the group prepared to head deeper into this tower. What else will they encounter? |
